Drake Automation sold to Columbine

Article Abstract:

Drake Automation, which specializes in automating the transmission of programming for large multi-channel broadcasters, has been bought by Columbine JDS Systems for an undisclosed sum. Columbine is a Denver-based company supplying software and connectivity products for the airtime buying and selling process for TV and other electronic media markets. Drake is already the leading supplier of high-end multi-channel systems in Europe.

War deaths fuel INSI's UN lobby

The International News Safety Institute is lobbying for a revision of the Geneva Convention concerning the carrying out of war crimes. The institute wants the convention to make the negligent or intentional killing of journalists a war crime.

Montreaux: 'adopt HDTV or lose out.'

The World Television Forum in Montreaux sent out the message that Europe will have to accept high definition television (HDTV). HDTV will have to be adopted if Europe is to go on marketing its programmes around the world.
