Pivotal debate

Article Abstract:

The choice of material for rudder bearings will determine the approximate service life of such bearings. Rudder bearings are either made of bronze or composite materials. Rudder system supplier Willi Becker makes bronze bearings that come with a five-year guarantee. Installed correctly, the firm claims that the bearings will last for ten years or even longer. Becker's bearings are lubricated with 90% seawater. On the other hand, composite bearing manufacturer Thordon gives a 10-year guarantee for newbuildings using its products. Thordon's bearings are made with a swell allowance.

Fresh lipstick - rethinking images of women in advertising

Article Abstract:

American feminist thought has for long believed that the search for a beautiful appearance reflects low self-esteem, and has refused to appreciate grooming practices intended to beautify. Instances from the portrayal of women in advertising only prove that this belief overlooks the pleasure appeal that women find in using beauty products, and the fact that humans communicate what they are through self-decoration.
