Green light for BBC?

Article Abstract:

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has issued guidelines for the BBC's digital services, following nearly seven months of deliberations. According to the report, the BBC is must provide a "description" of the new services, as well as reasons for license-funding. Critics, including the Commercial Radio Companies Association and lobbyists are complaining that the guidelines are too vague.

BBC 2 shifts focus to over-35 market

Article Abstract:

Jane Root, controller at BBC 2, helps guide the network, as it changes its programming to accommodate the 35-55 age group. In the future, more youthful-oriented programming will be featured on BBC 3. Already creating a more mature channel, Root has introduced programming such as 'Attachments' and 'Marion and Geoff.'
