Group instinct

Article Abstract:

The merger between Brook Associates and Brian Lapping Associates on May 1 1997 formed a new company called Brook Lapping Productions. Brook Lapping Productions will have a yearly turnover of about 6 million pounds sterling. The merger between the two companies is in response to their negative experiences in gaining commissions from UK television stations. The management hope to make more popular programmes along with their highly rated factual programmes. The Brook Lapping management plans to develop closer links with the new UK television station, Channel 5.

Commercial sense

Article Abstract:

Advertising agency Howell Henry Chaldecott Lury and Partners is reputed to be one of the most creative and experimental agencies, although the company denies it tries to do things on a low budget. Head of Television at the agency, Zoe Bell, believes straight-forward commercials are becoming outdated and demand for post-production services will subsequently grow. Mark Collier of advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty believes money can be wasted in post-production if the project is inadequately planned. The use of post-production services is described.

Article Abstract:

David Lloyd, 51 year old head of current affairs programs on the United Kingdoms' Channel 4 television station, is especially proud of the "Dispatches" programs, which are being relayed for the 10th consecutive season.
