Hetty axed as BBC unveils new drama

Article Abstract:

BBC is set to release two new dramas, titled Badger and Teachers, in 1998-99 to replace two series that have been dropped. Badger, a wildlife police story of Kieran Prendiville starring Jerome Flynn, will be made by Feelgood Fiction while BBC Production will make the second drama by Lucy Gannon on the life of secondary school teachers. The Broker's Man, a production of Bentley Productions, has posted a 36.6% audience share for its last series while Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, despite taking shares of 46% on its first series, 33% on the second and 32% on its fourth and last, has posed problems on its development beyond the fourth series.

Mighty mammal

Article Abstract:

The film "Ocean Warrior", about the founder of Greenpeace, Phil Watson, features an animatronically made whale that weighs 10 tons and is 45 feet long. The realistic looking whale is constructed from a steel frame, six tons of clay and eight and a half tons of polyurethane, and cost 500,000 pounds sterling to make.
