Optimal exploration for and exploitation of heterogenous mineral deposits

Article Abstract:

An approach was developed to illustrate exploration for and utilization of multiple mineral deposits. The approach involves an assumption that exploration, which is considered as a Bayesian process, is carried out to replenish and enhance the quality of identified resources. Identified reserves are illustrated based on realizations of discrete exploration episodes and on decisions involving ore to be mined and low quality resources to be refused.

History slips away

Article Abstract:

The photo of Sen Robert F. Kennedy as he lay dying on the floor of a hotel kitchen pantry after sustaining a gunshot wound appears serene and accepting, with his arms spread out, reminiscent of Jesus on the cross. In a sense, history slipped through the nation's fingers at that moment as it lost a visionary with so much promise who was never to test his ideas in power and the nation's poor was to lose a staunch defender.
