Article Abstract:
The Swedish television production company, Wegelius TV, was created to offer productions to the newly formed commercial television market in Sweden. Wegelius TV was founded by Anne Wegelius, who retained 9% of the company following its sale to Svensk-Filmindustri in Dec 1994. Anne Wegelius acknowledges that independent producers in Sweden, have a difficult task in gaining sufficent funding and keeping program rights. Wegelius has expanded its operation into Norway and is planning further overseas projects.

The Winter games
Article Abstract:
Dutch independent television production company IDTV has a very strong presence, producing many programmes in every genre for the domestic market. It has been successful with high-quality and reality dramas, and is also benefiting from strong viewer interest in infotainment. However, it has been most successful with gameshows and entertainment, and now makes 1,000 house of gameshows for the Dutch market alone. It has a very creative approach, and currently has 120 projects in development.

Mentorn stake goes on the market
Article Abstract:
It is believed that there could be two potential British purchasers for the large stake in independent production company Mentorn Films which is being offered by Tom Gutteridge, the company's owner and chief executive. The company is well known in the independent sector, but has seen problems recently following the failure of the co-produced puppet drama 'Space Precinct.'
