UK television station Channel 4's press officer Chris Griffin-Beal died in May 1998. He had worked for C4 since it began transmitting in 1982, and he produced a weekly guide explaining events taking place at C4 called Press Information. He worked effortlessly on behalf of C4, making himself indispensable to his many friends and work colleagues. He devoted much time to his family and will be missed by everyone.

The goal of Marchese' adoption agency, A Kids Exchange, is to place every Down's-syndrome child with it's birth parents or with an adoptive parent. The organization has helped arrange homes for over 4,000 children. Marchese has volunteered her time in this effort. She and her husband are raising five children, one with Down's syndrome.

The discovery of melatonin, a hormone believed to extend the life span of humans, is perceived as a danger to the economic and social security of the aged. Their financial survival would depend on the marketability of their skills and on their adaptation to a changing work environment.
