Dr. William F. Gibson laudes NationsBank and Hugh L. McColl, Jr.

Article Abstract:

The NAACP has honored NationsBank Pres and CEO Hugh L. McColl, Jr. with the 1991 Chairman's Corporate Social Responsibility Award for his contribution in the sphere of community development. In his acceptance speech, McColl announced the company's future plans to initiate five Community Development Resource Centers in collaboration with the NAACP. NAACP Chrmn William F. Gibson, while presenting the award, acknowledged NationsBank's achievements in providing financial support to economically backward communities.

Article Abstract:

Advertising will likely finance the new systems that deliver information via home computers. Home shopping, a $2 billion industry in 1993, is expected to grow 20% each year and be aided by aggressive public relations. Information kiosk software will help society function with fewer workers and could create a situation in which people no longer use cash. This, in turn, would cut down on crime.

Picturing breast cancer

Article Abstract:

Interviews with Matuschka and Ned Asta are presented. Both women relate details of their treatment for breast cancer, reveal the scars from the surgery and discuss their attitudes to life after mastectomy.
