Resources posts loss of 6 million pounds sterling

Article Abstract:

BBC Resources, the biggest provider of broadcast facilities in the UK, posted a loss of 6 million pounds sterling for the fiscal year that ended Mar. 31, 1998. Although the firm actually obtained an increase in trading profit, from 1.5 million pounds sterling to 8 million pounds sterling in the same period, its operating profit was reduced by restructuring cost of 14 million pounds sterling. BBC Resources incurred expenses from the impending split of the directorate into new divisions, wholly-owned BBC subsidiary Resources Ltd and licence fee-funded arm Production Services.
