Ready, willing and able

Article Abstract:

Disabled, physically or mentally impaired people must not be discriminated against under the UK Disability Discrimination Act 1995. Disable people must not be treated less favourably when it comes to deciding terms of land sales, access to buildings and service provision. More information must be made available to disabled people, regarding their rights in law. Many of the requirements of the act may be hard to enforce, with some firms resorting to legislation to avoid making necessary legal changes.

Grazing lawns contribute to the subsistence of mesoherbivores on dystrophic savannas

Article Abstract:

The hypothesis that grazing lawns contribute towards the subsistence of the Kobus Kob Kob in a dystrophic West African savanna is tested, where kob and Hippopotamus amphibius both occur. It is suggested that grazing lawns are essential for the daily subsistence of mesoherbivores, particularly on nutrient-poor soil, and that megaherbivores facilitate their food supply, for at least part of the year.
