A new course for the Panama Canal

Article Abstract:

A prototype Global Poistioning System called Communications, Traffic Management, and Navigations (CTAN) system is providing safer and more efficient operations of the Panama Canal. The system is being implemented by an engineering team assigned to the Department of Transportation's Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, MA. CTAN helps overcome the Canal's navigation difficulties, which are closely linked to its fractured geology.

Northrop Grumman selected for 55 Tomcat upgrades

Article Abstract:

Northrop Grumman Corp has won a contract to upgrade 55 F-14 Tomcat fighters at the Naval Air Statopm Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA, to boost their strike and reconnaissance capabilities. The company will install modern equipment such as global positioning systems, digital flight control, night vision, Fast Tactical Imaging, and Low-Altitude Navigation and Infrared Targetting for Night systems.

STE warship designs prominent at Singapore show

IMDEX Asia in May 2001 featured several new Singapore Technologies Engineering designs, including: tank landing vessels, patrol vessels, and the special operations Fast Craft.
