Article Abstract:

The Navy LeagueEs 2003 National Convention in Hawaii would be headquartered at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu. The convention would feature a number of special events such as visits to the Arizona Memorial, the battleship USS Missouri and the WWII fleet submarine USS Bowfin, in addition to the full NLUS business agenda.

Returning time to the sailor

Article Abstract:

The Capital Investment for Labor program initiated by the Naval Sea Systems Command in 1999 has helped reduce the sailors' workload. Unpleasant time-consuming, non-warfighting chores such as cleaning and painting are assigned by civilian preservation teams. Thousands of sailor man-days of labor are save, allowing more time for training.

Submarine sonar system used on a true open architecture

Article Abstract:

The submarine sonar system that operates silently beneath the sea surface and provides a unique capability to venture into waters is discussed. The model has a wide aperture planar flank arrays, low frequency towed arrays, intercept arrays and obstacle avoidance sonars.
