Article Abstract:

The bill to raise the bonus and insurance plans for Army and Air National Guard by Congress was passed to aid future recruiting and retention efforts. The benefits of the health care insurances like Tricare Reserve Select, Tricare Standard Traumatic Injury Insurances, and death benefits are presented.

The Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) is reviewed as it has a sharp drop in benefits for spouses of deceased military retirees after 62. The senate budget committee approved legislation expanding health care coverage for guardsmen and reservists and benefits under Montgomery GI bill.
