Arming future MBTs- some considerations

Article Abstract:

The end of the East-West confrontation and the resulting radical changes in the global security policies of the world's leading nations have directly led to a deep review of the tasks, structures, organization and equipment of the respective armed forces. The future development trends for Main Battle Tanks and important consequences as regards the design of future-generation tank weapons, with design efforts being reoriented away from previous goals and towards new issues are explored.

PUMA AIFV roll out

Article Abstract:

The so-called system demonstrator of the PUMA AIFV was handed over by PSM GmbH (Project System Management GmbH), responsible as prime contractor to the German Federal office of Defense Technology and Procurement (BWB) on the airfield of Kassel-Calden. The PUMA combines the conflicting military requirements for high strategic and tactical mobility and maximum protection.

AFV intercom systems

Article Abstract:

Intercom systems facilitate communication with one another within a large area and are also used in voice enhancement inside vehicles, especially in Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs). In the AFVs, the crew may have to communicate through an appropriate intercom system even at an arm's distance due to the noise of the vehicle and the surrounding.
