As good as it gets?

Article Abstract:

In the context of threats posed by the U.S. foes Iraq, Al Qaeda, North Korea, and Iran, the spending on the defense plan does not seem to be over poised. It is argued that nothing is done on the contrary to rectify the massive force cuts levied in the 1990s.

Budget fact and fantasy

Article Abstract:

The defense budgets, and defense spending, under the Carter, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton administrations are examined. The US Congress was also a frequent contributor to the final budget figures.
