Australia and DSTO focus on high-speed vessel

Article Abstract:

Austal Ships and Australia's Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) have signed an 'Industry alliance' for five years so that the association between the DSTO's maritime research and development activities, the shipbuilder's design, construction and systems integration work can be recognized and reinforced. The alliance will be focused on aluminium high-speed vessels (HSVs), long term performance issues and cost of HSVs ownership over life-of-type, which has raised the interest of Austal in military applications.
