Canada eyes Tromp capability

Article Abstract:

The Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN)'s latest LCF-type air-defense and command frigates, HrMs Tromp (F803) has displayed its hi-tech combat systems to the Canadian navy, the US Navy and the US Coast Guard. The Canadian navy is in the project definition stage of a Joint Support Ship (JSS) project and it might also acquire an amphibious transport ship to be used as part of a Standing Contingency Task Force.

Canada converts Sea Kings for battlefield role with SCTF

Article Abstract:

The Canadian Air Force has started conversion of five CH-124B Sea King anti-submarine warfare helicopters to a battlefield transport role. The converted Sea Kings would become a part of the new Standing Contingency Task Force announced in Canada's 2005 Defense Policy Statement.

Canada develops a new reconnaissance vehicle to strengthen light force capability

Article Abstract:

The Canadian Army is developing a new Light Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle (LARV) to be ready for the army by 2010-2011. The LARV would fill the gap between the Mercedes Benz G-wagons and the Coyote Light Armored Vehicle-Reconnaissance.
