Chief of defence revisited: Romanian armed forces

Article Abstract:

General Eugen Badalan, Chief of General Staff of the Romanian Armed Forces discusses and defines the main roles and missions of their forces and comments on current assets and future-oriented procurement programmes. He believes that the process for developing and implementing new procedures related to training for and conducting joint operations represents a priority objective for the Romanian Armed Forces in order to reach full interoperability with NATO forces.

The army chief: Reorganizing for national collective defence

Lieutenant General Marijan Marekovic, Army Commander, Croatian Army discusses and defines the main roles and missions of their forces and comments on current assets and future-oriented procurement programmes. He believes that as part of the national defense concept, Croatian Land Forces (CLF) has evolved from a territorially based system ready to accomplish all tasks within the national defense framework and for participation in NATO-led operations.

Major General Kostaq Karoli, Commander of Albanian Armed Forces (AAF) discusses and defines the main roles and missions of their forces and comments on current assets and future-oriented procurement programmes. He believes that their forces are working hard that the future AAF would be a small army as part of professional joint forces, operationally capable of interaction with other NATO member forces.
