Data storage systems: Looking ahead

Article Abstract:

The likely future directions of data storage systems is examined, and it is believed that disk storage might be cheaper than tape within a few years. Tape systems for the home PC cost a substantial fraction of the total price of the system itself, and hence disk storage is considered to be cheaper in comparison.

Lieutenant General Sedivy states that it is important to decide whether the future Army of the Czech Republic (ARC) will be a fully professional army or continue on a conscription basis. The ARC plans to integrate into the military structures of the North Atlantic Alliance.
