Denmark lauches C31 upgrade for StanFlex ships

Article Abstract:

The Royal Danish Navy has launched a mid-life update program for the command, control and communications information (C31) system fitted aboard its Flyvefisken-class Standard Flex 300 multirole surface combatants. Three Danish companies, namely Terma A/S, Systematic and Infocom Systems, are participating in the technology refresh program under contract to the Naval Material Command. The C31 update program is expected to run for about five years.

New C2 system for Malaysian missile ships

Article Abstract:

Alenia Marconi Systems (AMS) has successfully concluded a supply contract for its IPN-S command and control system to the Laksamana-class guided missile corvettes of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). The contract is part of the agreement signed between Fincantieri and the RMN in 1997. AMS has been a major supplier of naval combat systems for the Laksamana class corvettes since the first vessels were delivered by Fincantieri to the RMN in 1995.

Command and control systems come out of the shadows

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin Corp's Naval Electronics and Surveillance Systems division has launched two naval command and control systems on October 2000 at a show in Paris, France. The division introduced the Component Based Total Ship System, a commercial off-the-shelf-based system, for use across all ship functions and the enhanced SUBICS 900 command and control system for use by diesel electric submarines.
