Disengaging from terrorism

Article Abstract:

Antiterrorism initiatives will be useful only when people leaving terrorism are understood properly, particularly in relation to relevant psychological factors. The disengagement is a very slow process; people disengaging from terrorism might retain an ideological commitment or even switch roles, by moving into fundraising or supporting political activities.

The making of a terrorist

Article Abstract:

There is a need for a greater understanding of terrorism, as well as an understanding of the motivation of terrorists. Terrorism itself is complex, and the psychology of terrorists can vary widely. However, there is no evidence that terrorist are 'mad,' as some have charged.

Cracking down on terrorist financing

Article Abstract:

The Bush administration has frozen the assets of some 27 organizations in an effort to halt the financing of terrorism. Most of the organizations selected are those that have some association with Al-Qaeda.
