Distributed mission operations and distributed mission training

Article Abstract:

The concept and capability of an aircraft simulator has changed dramatically with the advent of affordable large memory computer power. The Distributed Mission Training concept introduces high fidelity simulators with visual inputs providing a sense of movement and the ability to be linked to other simulators, while the Distributed Mission Operations is an US Air Force readiness initiative will provide a system of linked interoperable training to allow operators to train as they would expect to fight.

Taming the monster: The next computing revolution

Article Abstract:

The aim of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA's) Information Technology Office is to tame the monster of their creation by developing a new kind of computing system wherein it actually knows what it is doing. The cognitive computing systems would need to reason with knowledge and require ways to remember its experiences and recall them when needed.

A fighter of many names: CAC FC-1

Article Abstract:

A new Chinese supersonic fighter made its debut flight on 25 August 2003. The CAC (Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group) FC-1 (Fighter China-1) is the Chinese lightweight fighter that is designed to replace the J-7, which is the local copy of the MiG-21.
