Distributed operations: From the sea

Article Abstract:

The concept of distributed operations introduced is an additional capability that is applicable across the full range of military operations. The concept responds to changes in the current and projected security environment and describes how adaptive Marine Corps maneuver forces provide an enhanced, immediate response capability required by the combatant commanders.

Helicopter operations at Khe Sanh

David L. Althoff, 1968 Marine Aviator of the Year, describes his experience transporting supplies and troop reinforcements to the outpost at Khe Sanh, Vietnam. Combat conditions, resupply techniques, and the importance of maintaining morale are discussed.
