Article Abstract:

Effective air defense is fundamental to security as it has the ability to survey and comprehend the air space environment and then respond appropriately, which is a core defense requirement. It is accomplished by a complex system, which enables a variety of air vehicles and missiles to be detected, tracked, classified and intercepted, either by maritime or ground-based weapons systems, or by interceptor aircraft.

Avalon emerges as a major event

Article Abstract:

The events at the 2005 Australian International Air Show where 500 exhibiting companies from 22 countries took part are described. There were high level conferences held in Melbourne and Geelong as well and the occasion was used to unveil an 'Anniversary Jet' to mark the twenty years of F/A-18 HORNET operations.

Australia to boost air defence capabilities

Article Abstract:

The Australian Dept of Defence expects to solicit registrations of interest in a Ground Based Air Defence Weapon System in Jan 2003. The emerging requirements of the system are discussed.
