Eads-large system integrator for the Baltic Navies

Article Abstract:

Naval-based software capability EADS has embarked on the development of a new generation Naval Combat System that primarily provide wide quality tactical information to the operations team for decision making. The Air and Naval Defense unit of EADS Defense and Communications System has won a contract for the integration and development of an Advanced Naval Combat System (ANCS) and different subsystems for the Finnish Navy, called the Squadmn 2000 programme.

50 years: German Navy in NATO

Article Abstract:

The year 2006 marks the 50th anniversary of the German Navy, the Federal German Navy (Bundesmarine) in NATO that has been rising to a capable maritime force to significantly contribute to a range of NATO's most critical tasks at sea and in the air. With the help of constantly developing domestic defense industry and thus coping with the challenges of the 21st Century, the German Navy will be capable of further maintaining and enhancing its capabilities.

The countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are each pursuing different paths toward their mutual goal of gaining membership in NATO and the European Union. The differences in their pursuits may be surprising to observers who commonly see only the similarities.
