Fighting air and missile defense in the future

Article Abstract:

A hypothetical missile defense challenge in the year 2020 is described. The threat of a missile attack was thwarted by the actions of the Army Air and Missile Defense (AMD) forces. The AMD is in the midst of a transformation that will enable it to dominate and control such threats.

Air and missile defense transformation

Article Abstract:

The United States armed forces are in a period of transition, as they strive to meet the challenges presented by a post Cold War world. The US Army is a vital element in this transformation, and Army personnel are anticipating the roles they will play.

The Army has a unique structure, among the military forces. Generally speaking, there is a division between combat forces, and all others, while the combat units can be divided into combat, combat support, and combat service support.
