Finland's international cooperation for defence materiel

Article Abstract:

The Finnish Defense Forces will have to depend on international cooperation programs to meet defense requirements within the constraints of tight budgets and a relatively small domestic defense industry. Cooperation with other Nordic countries is to be recommended for obvious geographic and historical reasons. Potential cooperation with other European countries should also not be overlooked. Any cooperation, however, should work within the context of a structural program the Finnish Defense Forces is implementing over the next ten years. Under the structural program, the preparedness and reactive capability of the Finnish Defense Forces are being enhanced.
