Foreign comparative test program

Article Abstract:

One of the ways to accelerate the process of getting new equipment into use is through the Foreign Comparative Test Program (FCTP), which consolidates the testing and evaluation of foreign nondevelopmental items that show potential in meeting user requirements throughout the armed forces. Program Manager's (M) prepare proposals and request the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) for funding for testing foreign items. Examples of successful proposals that have been implemented are detailed.

Munitions transformation

Article Abstract:

Life-cycle requirements, common components, continuous R&D and production, block upgrades and eliminating demilitarization are the key elements of the munitions transformation strategy. The inclusion of life-cycle requirements would allow the Army to include issues such as environmental factors, conversion to training use and packaging for storage and shipment.

The Army's interest in seapower

Article Abstract:

The US Army mostly rely on sealift services for it's rapid operation in global terrorism. It is essential for the US to keep ground arm forces with heavy weapon to maintain strength against major wars with regional powers, which leads to developing sealift services, as only through maritime it can send heavy arm vehicles, forces as well as warfare machinery.
