Fourth-generation warfare minus five

Article Abstract:

Clausewitz's fundamental understanding of war can be summarized by the practical use of military power in the 19th century and the application of political theory. Though we are supposedly entering fourth-generation warfare, terrorism and guerilla warfare present the same challenges today as they did years ago indicating that war has again shifted to an older style as a practical response to overwhelming conventional military strength.

A philosophical conflict: a fighter pilot's views on the ethics of warfare

Article Abstract:

Fighter pilots have a moral quandry, because their job is to kill people or destroy something, rather than provide support services. Pilots who have not had to face the moral issue of the consequences of their job should consider them before they have to go on an actual mission.
