Gensym Corp was established in 1986 and has become a prominent supplier of software and services for intelligent operations management. The firm has been able to transform intelligent technologies developed in academic and laboratory institutes to be utilized in complex control and operations management. It has sold about 11,000 product licenses to over 750 entities in over 60 countries and its software products are being used in various business applications and industries.

Atlantic Research Corp of Gainesville, VA, founded in 1949, has emerged as one of the top manufacturers of tactical rockets in the world. The company, a unit of Sequa Corp of New York, is a firm that is deeply rooted in technology. Among its other specialties are space propulsion systems, automotive air bag inflators and advanced composite materials. Atlantic Research is the maker of the solid rocket motors used in the MK104, the Sidewinder and the Parriot PAC-3 missiles.
