The Fallujah model

Article Abstract:

The Iraqi operations in November 2004, which swept the town Fallujah have marked the unveiling of an urban-warfare model based on persistent air surveillance, precision air strikes, and swift airlift support. The model unveiled at Fallujah has taken the urban operations to a new and higher level that adds to the margin of superiority for forces on ground and takes the pursuit of major targets to a new level of competence through ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) and on-call strike.

Distributed Mission Operations

Article Abstract:

Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) is a networked training program that allows participants from all US services, even if they are in different parts of the world, to practice together on virtual battlefields. Plans called for the concept to go through a major tryout at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, the purpose of which would be to test the training state of the art and identify lessons for future exercises.
