Task Force Trailblazer-countering IEDs during Operation Iraqi Freedom

Article Abstract:

The 4th Infantry Division (4ID) established a route security and clearance force that included Task Force Trailblazer (TFT), a combat engineer task force led by the Fort Lewis, Washington-based 555th Combat Engineer Group, in order to deter, detect and destroy both improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The 555th and TFT provided a degree of assured mobility for the 4ID and units moving within the area of responsibility, a 32,000-square-mile area in north central Iraq.

The life and work of Chap. (Maj.) Carlos Herta who is focused on rebuilding schools Mosul, Iraq and the surrounding Nineveh Province for country's bright future is discussed. He is the chaplain assigned to the 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery, which is part of 2nd Brigade Combat Team.

News call: Rotations in Iraq

Article Abstract:

The XVIII Airborne Corps officially took command of Multinational Corps in Iraq, replacing III Corps, under the rotation policy on 10th February 2005. The Hawaii Guard's 29th Brigade Combat would be replacing Washington State's Brigade around Baghdad.
