Article Abstract:

The Pentagon officials are planning to institute a management for the Global Information Grid (GIG) that would work like a private world wide web and would incorporate data collected by Air Force E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) aircraft during combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The GIG plan would comprise three major mission areas that include war fighting, business, and enterprise information environment.

Article Abstract:

The Soldier Systems Center (SSC) in Natick, Massachusetts, U.S.A. whose activities center on the individual war fighter, especially the dismounted infantryman, is reviewed. Its 'Future War Effort' is fueled by innovative technologies with special emphasis on Nan technology and biotechnology with a view to enhancing soldier performance, endurance, lethality and survivability.
