Horn hotbed

Article Abstract:

The Horn of Africa which comprises of countries like Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan has seen many military coups and bloody terrorism leading to political instability. For overcoming terrorism, Islamic radicalism and instability, these African nations must use defense, diplomacy and developmental tools to build capability and capacity of regional partners and create a safe and stable environment.

Angst in expected places: Leaked Pentagon budget-cutting plan spurs quick response from lawmakers

Article Abstract:

The leaking of the 26-page document, dated December 23, 2004, and marked 'For Official Use Only', from the Pentagon, which indicates for buying 62 fewer C-130Js than planned in order to save $3.5 billion, has prompted quick response form lawmakers. This strategic leak was a well-executed one, which was done in order to show that defense is paying its share.
