Hydrologic analysis of Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom

Article Abstract:

Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) sought an assessment, the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF) of the Iraqi hydrologic network to identify potential obstacles to Marine Corps operations in southern Iraq. For this purpose, the MCIA studied locations of water sources, storage rates in different location, and release rates at different times, and seasonal variations along the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and their tributaries.

Blue diamond intelligence: division-level intelligence operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom

Article Abstract:

The strengths and the shortfalls of the division-level intelligence cooperation during the Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) are discussed. The intelligence effort was able to smoothly shift over to the support of stabilization operations in Baghdad and other seven southern governates in Iraq, when the combat operations were winding down.
