Article Abstract:

A large number of unmanned aircraft (UA) are being developed and deployed by US forces due to their diversity and application to a wide range of missions, making it one of the fastest-growing technologies of the US military. Though limited to reconnaissance roles currently, the newly manufactured unmanned aircraft, such as the Long Gun and the Silver Fox, will be used as strike planes, transporters as well as for specialized intelligence tasks.

Long Beach is top U.S. container port

Article Abstract:

The Port of Long Beach, CA, has the distinction of being the top cargo- handling point in the US, an honor that the port has held since 1995. The port's success in the shipping business is due to its modern intermodal facilities that allow the quick transfer of cargo from ships to various modes of land transportation and vice-versa. The Port of Long Beach's trade with Asia accounts for 85% of the total cargo that it handles.

Gliders under the sea....

Article Abstract:

Gliders, small, autonomous underwater vehicles, are used as an anti-submarine tool to counter the growing threat of quiet diesel submarines in littoral waters. The gliders can help improve the confidence with the diesel submarines in littoral areas and are much cheaper to operate for extended periods than other hydrographic sensors.
