Institutionalizing the trifocal view

Article Abstract:

The US Marine Corps uses a unique, in-depth three-dimensional analysis to identify leadership potential among candidates in Officer Candidates School (OCS), but this trifocal view shifts to a one-dimensional construct after the young officer enters the Operating Forces. This single-view reporting process is however often biased and may not provide enough feedback to foster further development of an able leader, and the Marine Corps must continue the trifocal view beyond the OCS in order to build/develop accountable, self-regulating leaders.
