Introduction to 2/7 CAP platoon actions in Iraq

Article Abstract:

A program on the combined action (CAP) was included, as a part of training of the 1st Marine Division for predeployment training for Operation Iraqi Freedom II. The Corps had a successful experience with CAP in the Vietnam War 33 years ago, and recently its experimentation in the Iraq war had also shown signs of success.

The cooperative will of war

Article Abstract:

The Marine Corps' must improve its ability to persuade, mentor and inspire foreign militaries. Some of the lessons for advising and integrating the Iraqi Security Force discussed include staff and equip the liaison team, create unity with Iraqis and establish regular meetings for decisions.

Article Abstract:

The US success in Iraq and against future insurgencies depends upon the ability to train and employ indigenous forces. Indigenous forces will assets to the US forces operating in alien cultures with the right leadership, earnest training and a combined campaign to influence their will.
