The key: Prying Syria away from Iran

Article Abstract:

The US and Britain are hoping that a United Nations (UN) Security Council resolution would force Iran and Syria to tread carefully before rearming Hezbollah. The US is hoping that its main Arab allies, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, will pressurize Syria to distance itself from Iran and endorse the peace plan and it is also looking for ways to remove Syria away from its alliance of convenience with Iran.
