Iraqi freedom confirms some familiar lessons

Article Abstract:

The global conclusions drawn from the three-week war between the world's preeminent military powers, the U.S. and Iraq are generalized and presented. It is reported that Iraqi freedom reconfirmed that recognizing the need to win on the ground in no way devalues the contribution of every arm and service to victory.

Article Abstract:

The current scenario in Iraq and Afghanistan is described. In Iraq, the new prime minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari was sworn in even though insurgent activities continued whereas in Afghanistan, in an insurgent ambush, many insurgents were killed by the Afghan National Police and U.S. soldiers.

The persistent challenge of isolating an insurgency

Article Abstract:

Insurgency problems in Afghanistan and Iraq are examined. A major unresolved challenge faced by both the countries is regarding depriving the insurgents of internal freedom of movement and external replenishment.
