Lockheed Martin to develop undersea vehicle

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $6.8 million contract by the Naval Sea Systems Command to design a mission-reconfigurable unmanned undersea vehicle (MRUUV) that is capable of being launched from the 21-inch torpedo tube. The MRUUV will be launched from a Virginia-class or Los Angeles-class attack submarine (SSN) for clandestine intelligence collection, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and also for mine neutralization and tactical ocean survey.

Lockheed Martin Unit to test rapid-fire Millennium Gun at sea

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin would be testing the Millennium Gun at sea early 2006, after having completed its initial round of ground tests at a target range in Camden, Arkansas. The new gun is currently being evaluated by the US Naval Sea Systems Command to meet a Navy requirement for force protection against a variety of threats, including fast-attack craft, aircraft, antiship missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and shore targets in littoral areas.

Lockheed Martin selected to build Joint Strike Fighter

Article Abstract:

The US Department of Defense has awarded the Joint Strike Fighter contract to Lockheed Martin. The next-generation aircraft will be used by the armed forces of both the United States and United Kingdom. Construction details are discussed.
