Malaysia takes delivery of all-weather, networked Jernas systems from MBDA

Article Abstract:

MBDA has delivered the Jernas short-range air defence (SHORAD) systems ordered by Malaysia in 2002 which also comprised nine launchers, three tracking radars and three surveillance radars, plus the latest Rapier Mk surface-to-air missile (SAM). Malaysia already operates a number of man-portable SAMs but Jernas is the first SHORAD to enter service with an all-weather and networked capability.

Kuwait plans upgrade for Amoun missile/artillery batteries

Article Abstract:

The defence ministry of Kuwait has awarded a contract of eighty five million U.S. dollars to MBDA Missiles Systems group to upgrade its Air Defence Brigade's Amoun missile. The new system has advanced technologies to increase the engagement range of the missile as well as interception capabilities.
