U.S. Navy ship transfer to meet allies' needs

Article Abstract:

The BAV Division of the VSE Corporation has offered a teaming approach to provide a ship transfer, follow-on technical support and industrial engineering, training and logistics support. The US Navy has outsourced a large portion of the foreign military sales (FMS) ship transfer process and BAV and its naval partners have provided total package solutions to ship transfer challenges that result in cost and schedule savings for foreign customers.

Boeing P-8A MMA: First of a new species

The US Navy is forfeiting the whole concept of the traditional Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) with Boeing Co.'s P-8A Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA), which might become one of the cornerstones of the Network Centric Operations tenet. The US Navy and Boeing have crafted a production concept that satisfies the security needs of the customer while benefiting from the series production efficiency of the commercial B737.

Bidders submit final UCAS-D proposals

Northrop Grumman and Boeing submitted final bids in May 2007 for a contract worth about $2 billion for the first carrier-based unmanned fighter aircraft prototype, the Unmanned Combat Air System-Demonstrator (UCAS-D).
