Article Abstract:

General David D. McKiernan, Commander of US Army discusses USAREUR transformation into the 21st century as the US Army's Europe's structure has been essentially unchanged since the 1950s. The new entity, headed by USAREUR/Task Force 5, would be a streamlined organization, made up of modular, technically advanced units whose information technology, weapons and systems bring an advanced warfighting capability.

Lieutenant General J.H.P.M. Caron, CMM, MSM, CD, Commander of the Army discusses and defines the main roles and missions of their forces and comments on current assets and future-oriented procurement programmes. He believes that Canadian Army has made enormous strides toward a major transformation, changes that enable them to make an important contribution to operations by the North Atlantic alliance.

In the end it's all about ammunition

Article Abstract:

The global war on terrorism has spotlighted the weakness and problems facing the ammunition industrial base, that is the small-arms ammunition. PEO Ammunition and Army Material Command are hence working to ensure an adequate stockpile of ammunition, to modernize and diversify the ammunition industrial base, and advance the basic science of small-caliber ammunition.
