Managing information overload

Article Abstract:

The information age and the advent of the Internet and other information technology (IT) has resulted in the emergence of Open Source Intelligence, where both the types and amounts of information available to individuals has become greater than ever because of technological advances. This trend might be considered the Information Revolution or the Knowledge Age, where enhanced, specialized and affordable IT can be used to accurately interpret and manage vast amounts of data. This Information Revolution/Knowledge Age has exerted a considerable influence on all aspects of government and commercial intelligence worldwide.

Europe fights cybercrime

Article Abstract:

The Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime has issued its report to the European Committee on Crime Problems, where it must receive ratification by at least five member states. Most countries, including those in the European Union, do not have adequate laws in place to properly deal with cybercrime.

Australia takes a lead in CIP

Article Abstract:

Australia has become one of the leading countries in the protecton of its national information infrastructure. This emphasis on cybersecurity was seen as early as the 2000 Olympics, when measures were taken to protect its informaton systems.
