Report targets Collins class

Article Abstract:

The Collins-class diesel-electric submarine program of Australia is found deficient in design and operability, according to an independent progress report given to the Department of Defense. The detailed report states that the submarines are incapable of performing at par with military standards and will require significant changes in the combat system. The report also suggests other measures such as the strengthening of the procurement system and the filing of monthly reports on the project.
