NATO starts fielding deployable air C2 units

Article Abstract:

The first NATO-owned deployable air operations control unit is being established in the Netherlands with the objective of achieving initial operational capability (IOC) by 1st January, 2009, to support NRF-12, the 12th rotation of the NATO Response Force, during its six-month standby period. Known as the Deployable ARS 1 (DARS-1), the unit would be a deployable version of the new Air Control Centre, Recognized Air Picture Production Centre, Censor Fusion Post (ARS) entities.
