NATO study on an all electric warship

Article Abstract:

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has authorized the conduct of a number of studies to determine the feasibility of adapting an Integrated Full Electric Propulsion system for its warships. The project is being undertaken by the NATO Naval Group 6/Sub Group 4. The group is responsible for all doctrines and concepts involved in electric power generation, distribution, control and use in submarines and other naval ships.

The Croatian Republic Navy was founded on September 12, 1991, two days later the Croatian flag was hoisted for the first time on a battleship and 27 combat vessels were captured in the 'Repair Shipyard' of Sibenic.
