Naval Academy appointments: Are you considering attendance at the Naval Academy

Article Abstract:

The process of applying to and selection in the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), the undergraduate college of the Naval Services that trains candidates to become professional officers in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, is explained. Candidates for the USNA should apply for an appointment with relevant academic, physical and medical criteria, and also possess an official nomination from the Vice President, Senators or Congressman.

DLA: New approach in support of the warfighter

Article Abstract:

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has taken a new approach to support warfighting and has transformed to provide fastest, most efficient support possible to the military forces. The driving force behind the DLA's transformation is the need to build and sustain logistics systems that is agile and effective in order to ensure that timely support is given to the warfighter.

Combat service support during DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM: from Kibrit to Kuwait

Article Abstract:

A first hand report is given of the complexities involved in, and the flexibility shown by, the force service support groups (FSSGs), when a decision to use two breading sites instead of one was made. The challenges faced by the FSSGs in Operation DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM is narrated.
